I'm confused, do I select local van
delivery or standard delivery?
If you live within 30 miles of our store
in Pool in Wharfedale (LS21 1EG) then
you are eligible for local van delivery.
We go to certain areas on certain days.
If you are outside our delivery area
then we will send your order via courier
(there are some exceptions to this,
please see point 2). If you select local
van delivery, we will email you with
the day it will be delivered. We regret
we can not give a specific time, other
than 'late morning'. If needed, however,
if you mention it in the comments box
as you check out, we can get the van
driver to ring you with a more specific
I live outside your local van
delivery area, but I wanted some cat
litter or horse feed, is there any chance
it can still be delivered?
If this is the case, then please ring
us on 0113 284 3121 and ask. We will
do our best but there may well be additional
delivery charge. The only exception
to this is the Simple Systems horse
feed. We are limited to selling that
within a 10 mile radius of our store
(LS21 1EG), however you are able to
order online and collect from our store.
Do you deliver internationally?
Unfortunately not. International delivery
costs make this prohibitable for all
What happens after I've placed
We will check that payment has been
made (occasionally, sometimes you don't
get automatically connected to the WorldPay
website) so if this is the case we will
email you and check you still want the
delivery. We politely ask that payment
is made before delivery – this
can be done over the phone if you'd
rather not use WorldPay. Once we have
ensured payment has been made we will
make up the order and if you are a local
customer, email with confirmation of
when it will be delivered. If you are
having your order delivered via courier,
we will arrange collection from us on
a 2-4 day delivery estimate. If the
item you have ordered is out of stock,
we will email with any alternatives
we have and/or give an estimate as to
how long it will take to get the item
you ordered in to us. If we substitute
with a more expensive item, we will
charge at the cheaper items rate. If
the item we substitute with is cheaper
than the item you paid for, we will
refund the difference. We will endeavour
to get your shopping out to you as soon
as we can – we don't like waiting
for things we have bought either!
What if I'm not in when the
delivery is made?
We (on local deliveries) can deliver
to a neighbour or place of work OR if
there is somewhere safe/dry to leave
the order, the van driver will leave
it in a pre-specified location. If your
order arrives via courier, they will
either contact you for redelivery or
you will have to collect from their
depot – they do not automatically
return the goods to us.
Can I collect from the shop?
Of course. Just please put The Blue
Barn's address as the delivery address.
Allow at least 2 hours between placing
the order and coming to collect. We
will RING you if any of your items are
out of stock. If you place the order
after we have closed (6pm weekdays,
5pm Saturdays and 4pm Sundays &
Bank holidays) then please wait until
after 10am the next day before collection.
Why do you do most of the confirming
Because if we email, we all have written
confirmation of what has been promised.

Any order under £40 has a £3.99
delivery charge, anything over is free.
If we have to send your order in 2 deliveries
due to items being out of stock, there
will be no delivery charges for the
